The One

Well my friends, I have reached the end of yet another internship.  Today was my last day at the fashion magazine and it was bittersweet. On the one hand, I have more time to relax, read, travel, wine and dine, but on the other hand... What's an intern without an internship?  I fear that I have become too used to the life of an intern.  I waltz in, dazzle them and then poof!  I'm gone!  What am I going to do when I have a real job?  When I sign a contract and virtually chain myself to a career that is expected to span gasp! until I retire!

I fear that all my internships have left me a bit commitment-phobic!  I am like a man who can't commit!  But how did I become such a playgirl when it comes to settling down?  I suppose I could pass the blame and use the excuse that any man with cold feet would use: I just haven't found the right one.  I know my dream job is out there and if I go through enough flings (aka internships!), I'll find it eventually!  But how do you know when you've found "The One"?  I really do believe that there is one out there for each of us!  I think mine will speak to me.  I'll arrive on Day One and say to myself:  "This is it, Ophelia!  You can stop looking!  This is it!"  (Are you seeing the last scene of just about every romantic comedy that I am picturing right now?)

Well girls, I'm ready!  This is the year, the time is now.  The search is on and I will find the job that was made for me and only me!  I may slip up and fall into another fling along the way (old habits die hard for Eternal Interns!), but I am tired of practice runs.  In 2010, I will find The One!

Gros bisous,

Ophelia

  4. Ophelia,
I know you have the drive and work ethic to make anything work. My wish for you is that you have the opportunity to put these to the test in the near future, and be paid to do so!! I have faith in you!!
