Hope your weekend was lovely as ever.  I spent mine at the cinema (with my leg elevated of course!) and now I have officially seen all the oscar nominated movies and I here are my picks:

  1. Thank you dear Rose for picking THE KINGS SPEECH as your choice for Best Picture!

    I did like THE SOCIAL NETWORK, but I generally don't feel films like that worthy of the "best" anything award. It's too glossy!!! Too clean ... does that make sense.

    I recently went to a lecture by Oscar winning director William Friedkin. He said that the best films are those where the camera is just dropped into a moment between the characters. And, I tend to agree. He commented on BLUE VALENTINE and THE FIGHTER. Well, THE SOCIAL NETWORK is definitely not one of those films.
